Samsung introduce its Flexible Display

Samsung Electronics, the world's best-selling smartphone maker, has launched a handset with a curved display screen.
Called the Galaxy Round, the smartphone will feature a 5.7in (14.5cm) display.
The launch comes just days after rival LG said it would begin production of curved-screen phones next year.
Digital display technology has been progressing towards curved screens. Both Samsung and LG already offer curved organic light-emitting diode (OLED) television sets.

Samsung said the curved screen display would help consumers use some of the features on the phone, including those that enable users to check information such as date, time and missed calls when home screen is off, with more ease.
At the same time, users can also change music tracks on their phone, even while its display is off.
The Galaxy Round will initially be launched only in South Korea. The firm gave no indication of its plans for a global launch.
'Internet of Things'
The global smartphone market has been growing rapidly.
According to research firm CCS Insight, worldwide smartphone sales will hit nearly one billion in 2013 - accounting for more than half the total of 1.7 billion mobile phones sold.
As as result, smartphone manufacturers have been keen to offer new products to win consumers.
With display technology moving towards flexible and bendy screens, it is one area that companies have been looking at.
Some analysts said that while the initial offering of curved-screen phones may not see huge sales, the segment of flexible displays was one to keep an eye on.

New Apple iWatch iOS 7 Flexible Display 2013 Concept

very cool iWatch concept made by Thomas Bogner takes a very different approach to the highly anticipated and rumored wearable computer by Apple: Bogner imagines the device borrowing influence from the Nike Fuel Band with iOS 7 design language and features.
We recently ran a poll asking readers to vote on the best of various iWatch concepts, most of which look more like a traditional watch than something Apple created, but a much smarter Nike Fueld Band-style wearable computer could just what the doctor ordered.
Bogner’s iWatch concept features Siri-style voice input for apps like Mail, Messages, and Calandar, and Music control, and features integrated Nike fitness software like Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch.

While it’s certainly just a product of the
imagination to the public at least at this point, it’s important to note our report earlier this year that Tim Cook was organizing a team of fitness and sensor experts around the iWatch project.

Cook, also a Nike Director, is known to wear the fitness-focused Fuel Band. The executive has praised the product. “I think Nike did a really great job with this,” he said at AllThingsD’s D11 conference. “The [wearables] that do more than one thing… aren’t great,” he added. As a company that prides itself on complete, integrated experiences, the smart watch market is one that Apple likely believes it could dominate by way of iPhone and iPad-like innovation.
Perhaps a device that combines the health tracking features of the Nike Fuel Band with the mobile accessibility features of smart watches like the Pebble would be a compelling enough sell for Apple to redefine the wearable computing market.

Samsung has launched its first wearable tech device, the Galaxy Gear smartwatch in India for Rs. 22,990.

The Galaxy Gear smartwatch was launched alongside the Galaxy Note 3 at IFA 2013. The smartwatch features a 1.63-inch (4.14 cm) OLED display. The Galaxy Gear smartwatch also features S Voice and can presently only work with the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition, a tablet which was also launched at IFA 2013. However, the company claims that soon the smartwatch will soon be compatible with other Galaxy smartphones like Galaxy S4, Galaxy SIII and Galaxy Note II. It can make calls, display messages, record videos and snap photos with its 1.9-megapixel camera.
Samsung's Galaxy Gear smartwatch comes with 70 apps initially, as per the company, which include apps for basic fitness such as a step-counting passometer, although Samsung hopes this number will grow as developers get on board. The battery life, a key challenge for most wearable devices, is said to be around 27 hours under Samsung's normal-use tests.

Samsung also launched the third iteration of the Note, the Galaxy Note 3 in India for Rs. 49,900.

ROLLTOP LAPTOP NEW TECHNOLOGY 2014

ROLL TOP LAPTOPS
Laptops are continuously changing. From the compelling components, various applications and thinner designs; to the memory storage, Wi-Fi capabilities and television viewing; they’ve come a long way from the first bulky home computers, and evolved into a fashionable trend.
Advancements in technology have led to more precise touch screens, longer range of wireless connections, and more compact devices capable of streaming video and audio while  providing driving directions to any location within the network, simultaneously.
German designer, Evgeny Orkin thinks he has found the answer with his Roll top concept. “The main goal was to combine the laptop monitor and graphic tablet into one gadget and avoid additional accessories,” he explains. He continued to say that consumers have the option to buy a computer and a graphic tablet with a touchscreen separately, but they are not able to use them as one laptop.
COMPONENTS:
Most of the components for the Rolltop already exist within the modern day designs such as the main board, processor, memory (flash), working memory, etc.
“The Rolltop does not have a CD/DVD reader or Floppy disc because [they’re obsolete]. Other components, such as the loudspeaker, Internet, web cam, USB ports and power supply are based in the cylinder in which the screen would roll around,” says Orkin.
Such a design would be perfect for students walking around campus grounds, business professional that travel regularly and home consumers who just like to keep themselves entertained when waiting to meet friends or relaxing in a coffee shop or at home
